Respect is one of those words we all toss around without really a second thought. Respectful? Generally? Depends on the situation? The game of real estate is emotional. Realtors completely understand that. Most people are very respectful in their own business environment. They understand the rules and conformity and arms length dealings become unemotional rather mundane necessities.
Journeying through a real estate transaction can be akin to the wild west. Anything goes and tempers, tears and tantrums can be brought on by even the smallest comment or unforeseen circumstance. Realtors completely understand. We have been described as therapists and juggling artists. But, alas, we are also humans.
Our goals and aspirations are to ensure a smooth transaction from start to finish. Those are rare. Trust me. Something unforeseen happens, I’d say, 90% of the time. The small issues, we handle with ease. The larger ones, they can be handled, but, often, their resolve is largely dependent on the personalities of the people involved and how respectful they handle situations.
Respect everyone throughout your real estate journey. Trust me, it will go a long, long way. Respect your realtor. This is your advocate. If you start to nit pick every little thing, it just crumbles away the foundation of trust you should be building.
We are human. We, too, have a line and once crossed, we just love to see the end in site as no one likes working under a microscope. We love latitude as that is why we chose entrepreneurship so we can zig and zag and no day is the same. To paraphrase and adapt a Beatles song…..the respect you take is equal to the respect you make.
